The multi-storey car park facility, located on the Addenbrookes Cambridge University Hospital site, provides a total parking provision of 1,050 spaces over seven levels.

The car park was constructed utilising modern construction methods and materials such as composite cladding and curtain glazing to the lift cores together with bespoke aero-foil louvres and decorative panel fenestration to the main car park area.A pedestrian link bridge structure has also been incorporated within the design to overcome level constraints and link the car park with the existing hospital infrastructure.

Within the car park, provision for less able people has been incorporated, which includes a mobility facility, disabled parking and specially designed circulation routes.

The design philosophy for the structure utilised a vertical circulation module design, which required careful detailed design development to ensure that suitable ramp and surface gradients were achieved.A galvanized steel frame was chosen for the main structure, incorporating cellular beams for services distribution along with specialist pre-cast concrete wide span floor planks with a structural concrete topping.

A soft landscaping scheme was also incorporated within the design comprising of carefully selected tree and shrub species to create an aesthetically pleasing environment.
