The Carter Academy has been in operation since 1970. It offers NVQ’s, HND, HNC and foundation degrees, as well as instigating over 500 training sessions each year, attracting almost 3,000 delegates.
As a CITB recognised Training Centre, the Academy is classed as a college itself, with the facilities for Apprentice training, NVQ’s, Up-skilling, Safety Training, Specialised Courses and Skills Tests.
We currently have nearly 80 trainees who are educated in-house.
The Carter Academy was originally opened by The CITB’s Chief Training Development Advisor and was the first centre to offer the CITB’s new training formats for trade apprentices.
