The EPIC Centre contains exhibition halls, offices, function rooms and low-energy demonstrations and is a carbon neutral facility showing eco-friendly opportunities for change.
The Epic Centre is a showcase for new environmental technologies which lessen the emission of greenhouse gases and help reduce global warming. It is one of Britain's 20 Greenest Buildings
The 1888m2 living sedum roof that covers the main exhibition halls is the largest in the East Midlands and one of the largest in Europe. The eye-catching helical wind turbines flanking the main entrance to the EPIC Centre are also very different in appearance to the larger conventional windmills. They are virtually silent and capable of being illuminated to create 3D images from LEDs mounted on their blades.
A working community facility built specifically to demonstrate green technologies; its aim is to increase awareness of climate change amongst the whole community.
