Cambridgeshire’s New Research and Development Centre

The Science Village, a state-of-the-art research and development centre in Chesterford Research Park, has recently been completed by a team from R G Carter.

Before construction work began, a ground survey was conducted as the building is on the site of a former WWII ordnance depot. Once the area was deemed safe, R G Carter started work on the innovative project.

The two-storey building features a breathable building system that operates automatically to regulate temperature by opening and closing windows, ensuring that an ambient room temperature is maintained constantly.

There are a total of 16 individual laboratory suites inside the building, each with a write-up and admin area.
