Construction Begins on Wellcome Trust Genome Centre

Representatives from the Wellcome Trust, along with Rob Carter and senior architect Bruce Nepp, attended a sod cutting ceremony to mark the first phase of construction of the Trust’s new 64-bed residential building, the Genome Centre.

The Wellcome Trust is a global charity that supports biomedical research and medical humanities, and is in need of a residential building to accommodate visitors attending the facilities already established on-site at the Genome Campus.

The project is targeted for BREEAM very good, with sustainable features such as PV panels and copper cladding to provide solar shading.

Our Cambridge office will begin construction at the end of August and works will be completed in October next year.
