Three medals won at SkillBuild competition

Three apprentices who enjoyed success at this year’s R E Carter awards have gone on to win medals in the regional SkillBuild competition:

  • Sebastian Clarke, gold bricklaying
  • Jordon Walker, gold carpentry
  • Frankie Bradford, bronze carpentry

Run by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), the competition tests the skills of construction trainees and apprentices in one of ten trades.

The fantastic result achieved on the day has also earned the young tradesmen the chance to compete for a place on the WorldSkills UK team 2013. Ben Cooke, R G Carter apprentice and WorldSkills 2012 Team UK finalist, came along to offer support at the heat held at Otley College in Suffolk.

Adrian Boulter, Carter Academy training manager, said: ‘It was another great day for both the Group and the Carter Academy.’
