A former pub in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, has been converted by a team from R G Carter into a Tesco Express store in a nine-week programme of works.
The store was officially opened on 8 May, with Robert Cook, R G Carter, and Tesco’s store development manager Gary Newall in attendance.
The R G Carter team is currently back on site at the Express store to undertake work on the upper floor of the building, which is being converted into a conference suite because of its close proximity to Tesco’s headquarters.
Welwyn’s community centre has benefited from decoration works as part of Tesco and R G Carter’s commitment to local communities. A donation has also been made to local drugs rehabilitation charity, Resolve.
Joe Heeney, Resolve service manager, said: ‘Please accept our sincere thanks and gratitude for your kind support of Resolve through your very generous donation.’
