BIM

R G Carter has recognised the important part Building Information Modelling (BIM) will play in the future development of schemes, supporting collaborative working and information sharing to offer consistent and co-ordinated design.

We have been developing our knowledge and understanding of BIM and how this can be used to model integrated plans for designs such as structural, architectural and mechanical & electrical, as well as planning work sequencing and the integration of the supply chain to manage risk and offer certainty over project objectives at an earlier stage within the process.

Our experience with BIM has already shown benefits from integrated designs in respect of clash detection, 3D visualisation and 4D construction simulations on complex projects.

We are currently working with key clients such as Waitrose to develop their BIM strategies and procedures, creating a cradle to grave approach from concept and feasibility to the soft landing and management of completed buildings.
