We were delighted to welcome students at Highfield Littleport Academy, part of The Active Learning Trust (ALT), to help break ground in the first steps towards the construction of their new extension.
Joined by Lynsey Holzer, CEO of ALT and Yvonne Skillern, Headteacher, the team presented the students with an engraved spade to mark the occasion.
The extension, funded through Cambridgeshire County Council, will house an additional 50 students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), helping to increase capacity and to enhance the academy’s ability to deliver specialist provision tailored to individual needs.
It will also feature a state-of-the-art sensory room, designed to provide a calming and stimulating environment for sensory exploration, essential for students with diverse needs.
