Having undertaken previous refurbishment projects on behalf of the East of England Co-operative Society, we were delighted to be awarded this £2.4m project constructing a new Co-op with associated parking and also six Housing Association Houses in Wickham Market.
Due to the location of the construction, we kept the local community in mind, inviting members of the Wickham Market Friends League and also school children from Wickham Market Primary School to see the ongoing build and also educate them on the running of a building site and also the dangers. We were happy to sponsor the school so they were able to purchase a new set of crockery which was overdue for this local primary school.
The associated houses are of a traditional masonry construction built in a functional design with views over the village playfield.
Party walls are robust – to e-wm-11 standard ensuring that privacy for the resident was paramount.
All units have photovoltaic panels on the roofs to ensure the eco creditentials of this small housing unit were good and in the future enabling residents to keep their bills to a minimum.
We were delighted to be awarded a Considerate Constructors score of 36.5 on this project.
