This project involved the construction of a 85 bed 3.5 storey hotel in the centre of Colchester, with limited access and a very enclosed site surrounded to all sides.
Work started with the ground clearance and reduced level dig progressing to the Vibro Piling a week later and then onto groundworks with traditional strip and pads design.
The building has a traditional beam and block suspended slab with ground floor steel frame and concrete transfer deck above to first floor with than a timber frame above which contains the bedrooms for the hotel. Within the hotel there is a Restaurant and Bar to the ground floor.
The building is clad in brickwork to ground floor only and then a mixture of render and timber cladding to the all upper floors with the building to give the impression of a traditional run of individual buildings with tiled roof.
