The refurbishment of a 1960’s office block in the heart of Norwich, Norfolk.
The project involved the complete refurbishment of the six storey, 22,500 sq ft office block, transforming it in to more modern accommodation
Formerly occupied by insurance giant Aviva, the six month contract saw the property gain a new roof covering and new double glazed windows, whilst internally the suspended ceilings were replaced, toilets refurbished and the mechanical and electrical installations upgraded.
- All waste from the project was segregated before removal from site, ensuring as much as possible was diverted from land fill.
- Ecological surveys were carried out prior to commencing the project to minimise the impact on the local environment.
- The landscaping works included planting of wild flowers to assist with increasing bio-diversity.
- The upgraded mechanical and electrical installation included a modern energy efficient heating system and energy efficient lighting with sensor control systems.
The scheme achieved a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating.
