Ground breaking ceremony for Cambridge University Library

R G Carter hosted a sod cutting ceremony to commemorate the ground breaking at the new off-site storage facility for Cambridge University Library.

The event was attended by representatives of Cambridge University Library, including Professor Chris Young (who took great delight in turning the first sod before breaking ground with the digger).

The ceremony marks an exciting milestone for the team, who have developed the design from the concept brief.

The purpose-built storage facility, located in Ely, will be one of only seven such facilities in the country upon completion and continues the company’s long established links with Cambridge University Library over the last 20 years.
