Founded in 1976, the R. E. Carter Awards were an annual celebration of the amazing skills of craft apprentices from all across the Norfolk and Waveney region. In 1977, the apprentices that represented R G Carter at the competition held at the Norfolk College of Arts and Technology in King’s Lynn, can be seen here at an informal reception, celebrating their involvement.
Chairman Robert Carter, second left, is presenting three apprentices with their gold medals won in bricklaying, carpentry and mechanical services.
