In Stevenage, the R G Carter team is making good progress on the unique transformation project to convert the ground floor of a 1970s multi-storey car park, into a modern Construction and Engineering Campus for North Hertfordshire College.
Spanning over 3,600 sqm, this once dark, underground space is being completely reworked. Partitions are now defining the layout, creating a mix of large, open workshop areas for vehicle maintenance, carpentry, and plumbing bays, alongside smaller rooms for teaching and staff use.
All of this sits within generous high-ceilings, framed by existing concrete columns, giving the space a distinctive industrial character.
The facility is on track for completion in time for the new September term, enabling students to transition from their current location into this innovative new campus.
