On Friday 4th July, Comberton Village Hall hosted their yearly afternoon tea for the elderly residents, providing them with a much-needed community event to get them out with other residents to socialise. This event in the village the R G Carter Cambridge office is located, has been running for 97 years in various formats and has become highly anticipated by local residents who don’t often get out to attend such events.
The residents were served, sandwiches, home-made scones and cakes, whilst enjoying the live band that kindly gave their services for free to entertain them for the afternoon.
R G Carter contributed towards the cost of the food and Stephanie Young from the Cambridge office, and the other trustees, spent the day running around, setting up the hall, providing lifts and helping serve food, staying until 7pm to complete the mammoth clean up and clear away afterwards.
