On this extremely tightly located site on Station Road in Cambridge, getting large plant manoeuvred into place is a real challenge, having no roadside space available and the
building itself taking up all the footprint of land available.
Recently the team have had to install a mobile concrete boom pump within the middle of the frame, utilising soft spots throughout the building within the floor slabs and between post tensioning strands that run through the slab.
The pump has been positioned to reach all areas of the job, fed from a static pump and pipe line that runs around the perimeter of the site, and will alleviate pressures on the
tower crane which will instead be utilised to proceed with the façade install.
Here you can see the first floor pour underway of this six storey office block, plus a basement for car parking.
