It was two decades ago that we built the Bar Hill Tesco Extra store; this year we have been back, enhancing the Tesco.com offering. Firstly reconfiguring the store space, the team then created an urban fulfilment centre which houses an automated system to supplement the many trolley journeys made in store to collect online shopping orders.
From fully laden crates of ambient and chilled produce, automated robotic arms will pick out a customer’s on-line order, ready for its delivery to their home.
