A topping out ceremony for the new library building in Eye, was held on Friday 25th October.

Invitees included Local Councillors and Senior Suffolk County Council Libraries staff as well as the Architects team and, members of the 490th Bomb Group Heritage Walks Society.

The new single storey library has been constructed using a specialist timber frame panel system which includes a combination of flat and pitched roofs as well as both the external and internal walls.

The facility will provide the local community with a fresh, modern and pleasant reading space and meeting rooms for local groups, replacing the much older library located elsewhere in the town centre.

The project team are due to handover the building at the end of the year.
