In 2006 the Firm was awarded one of the largest sustainable energy projects (at the time) in East Anglia; eight x 85m high 2MW turbines at the North Pickenham wind farm.

Utilising the design and construction expertise from our in-house Civil Engineering team and through building a strong relationship with world leading turbine foundation designer HCE, R G Carter delivered its first design and build wind project.

This important sustainable project has, to date, led to the delivery of enabling works and foundations for 120 turbines across 30 projects, amounting to 240MW (576MWh/year), powering 145,000 homes.

Here you can see our team in 2006 preparing to lift a blade into place and in the cockpit of the huge 1200 ton crawler crane with a 90m long jib and 15m flying jib.
