In December of 1983, Sir Timothy Colman, at the time Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk, laid the foundation stone for the new magistrates’ court in Norwich.

Watching (left to right) is Chairman Robert Carter, Norfolk County Council Chairman Raymond Frostick and Norfolk County Architect, Mr J F Tucker.

The construction of this important new complex in Bishopsgate included five adult and two juvenile courts, interview rooms and sections for probation officers, social workers, solicitors, police, press and caterers.
