Two new fuel tanks for the new state-of-the-art Energy Centre at Luton and Dunstable University Hospital, were recently craned into position. At 19 metre long and 3 metres in diameter, these huge diesel tanks, with a capacity of 125,000 litres, were a massive undertaking to get slotted into their prepared concrete basement works over an afternoon, closing the service road as they did so.

Replacing all obsolete and out of date heating plant and equipment this exciting energy centre will reduce their carbon emissions by approximately 35% and making it one of the most environmentally friendly NHS hospitals in the country.
