The Colchester Northern Gateway Sports Hub has been awarded £590,000 by the British Cycling trailblazer project. This was made possible through a commitment from the UK Government, and as part of the ‘Places to Ride programme’, which will fund the development of new, or the improvement of existing cycling facilities in communicatees across England.
This exceptional cycling facility, located on the new 76 acres sports and leisure facility for Colchester Borough Council, will be unique in Essex. This 1-mile track consisting of 6 loops will engage with a broad spectrum of cyclists across the community, offering leisurely cyclists a safe space to ride their bikes, and serious cyclists with a facility to challenge and improve.
