Inspired by their surroundings, this image from 1979 shows the start of an impromptu game of football by the R G Carter team on site at Norwich City Football Club.
Building the River End stand to accommodate 920 football fans, they were creating seating, terraces and executive boxes.
R G Carter went on to build all four main stands and corner links across the next two decades; City Stand ( 1988 ), Barclay Stand ( 1992 ) and South Stand ( 2004 ), which replaced that first built by the company in 1935.

Congratulations to the England football team for all they have achieved at the Euro 2020 Championships.
