We were very proud to have been entrusted to design and deliver, from ROBA Stage O to construction, the new home for Cambridgeshire County Council, New Shire Hall. Delivering environmental excellence, this modern, flexible building has now been handed over, ready to provide efficient work space to the council staff and improve access to the heart of the Council’s democratic functions.

Set in four acres of former brownfield land, it is a landmark on one of the largest Enterprise Zones in the country, managed by Urban&Civic.

Designed to create as little impact on the environment, it uses principles of the WELL Building standards to create healthy and comfortable spaces for its users.

Pv panels, a hybrid AC system, intelligent lighting, rain harvesting and the installation of an air source heat pump are just a few of the sustainable-led features designed and built into the new Hub: a perfect example of ‘building for the future’.
