Professor Alex de Rijke, co-founding director of design studio dRMM, gave an entertaining and thought provoking speech at this year’s annual Norwich Lecture, to over 300 guests. Held at the Enterprise Centre at the UEA, the focus of the evening was on the beauty and visual aesthetics of using wood in architecture, demonstrated through two flagship projects; Hastings Pier, winner of the Stirling Prize in 2017 and Maggie’s Hospice in Oldham. It was both an honour and pleasure to sponsor this prestigious event, run by the Norfolk Association of Architects and organised by Fielden and Mawson.
