Work continues on the refurbishment of the post‑war Oswald Building at Abbey College, Ramsey. The project forms part of Meridian Trust’s extensive masterplan investment in the campus, which sits on the historic site of the former Benedictine Ramsey Abbey.
Teams have now stripped the building back to its original precast concrete frame and beam floors. They are currently making the roof watertight to protect the structure ahead of internal works. Crews are also segregating materials into dedicated waste streams to maximise recycling and minimise waste.
In the coming weeks, the team will start work on a new car park with more than 200 spaces. They will also demolish several existing buildings across the site to create room for new facilities. The wider scheme includes decarbonisation upgrades across the school estate and a dedicated Sixth Form centre for 200 students.
