20 Station Road

Following the R G Carter team’s performance on the adjacent 30 Station Road we negotiated the contract for the delivery of shell and core 20 Station Road. Whilst the project was a similar constructtio & brick / GRC facade to 30, there are subtle differences in the envelope design and layout which still make the building individual and in keeping with the Cambridgeshire masterplan.

The new office building has created a 65,000 sqft grade A commercial office building contracted on a shell & core basis, green and brown roof provision together with PV, all intended to achieve a BREEAM 2014 New Construction rating of “Excellent”. Providing a ramp access & basement car park for 40 cars, 5 motobikes and bike stands to hold 254 bikes with 6 floors of open plan office space and ground floor reception. Improvements to public footways and enhanced landscaping and planting.

Fitted with 3 lifts throughout the building 20 Station Road benefits from modern, high-spec internal features including light and airy offices and collaborative spaces designed to help employees connect.

It was developed utilising a piled substructure, sheet piled perimeter, reinforced concrete frame, brick slip envelope solution on SFS infill.

Despite the restricted city centre location R G Carter have managed logistics and deliveries on a “just in time basis” and utilised our own tower crane.

The project completed in October 2022, and handed over to Fora Space to start their fit out. The team moved next door to commence the redevelopment of 10 Station Road, which was a further negotiated project for Brookgate Property Ltd.
