Astrea Bioseparations

R G Carter we appointed via an open tender process to deliver the full refurbishment and remodel of the Astera Bioseparations offices in Comberton.

As part of the scope of works we were required to deliver the scheme across four phases to ensure the existing operations of the building remained unaffected. In addition to support with the phasing, during phase 2, 3 and 4 we provided temporary accommodation for the employees to facilitate the delivery of remaining phases.

The scheme encompassed a full strip out of the existing office space and remodel/refurbishment to the entire building which once completed included the following:

• Phase 1 – Three laboratories and a new tea room
• Phase 2 – One large office with two small office style meeting rooms
• Phase 3 – Six small offices
• Phase4 – Two meeting rooms

As part of the remodel/refurbishment we provided new glazed window partitions, doors, decorations, flooring, wall coverings, suspended ceilings and more.

Additionally, we also upgraded the electrical systems within the building to ensure it was fit-for-purpose and up to current guidelines.
