R G Carter recently celebrated the official opening of a 1,000m2 research and development facility at Norwich Research Park for occupiers Leaf Systems International Ltd. The state-of-the-art steel-framed building was completed in just 12 months after the appointment of architects LSI and was constructed within 26 weeks by R G Carter.
The first floor of the building is occupied by laboratories and office space with dedicated service yard and chemicals storage on the ground floor level of the building.
Situated within zone 2 of the Norwich Research Park Enterprise Zone, the new facility is home to Leaf Systems® International Limited, which specialises in the expression and production of proteins, metabolites and complex natural products. Leaf Systems use a novel efficient, safe and simple system – Hypertrans® – to quickly produce proteins in plants such as vaccines, antibodies or enzymes.
