Manor School – Internal Refurbishments

Appointed by Nene Education Trust, R G Carter were delighted to be awarded the refurbishment of Manor School.

The project involved remodelling the school to create a number of new/refurbished rooms. The reconfiguration created;

  • a new dining room
  • music rooms
  • 6th Form area
  • humanities area
  • two food tech rooms
  • ICT suite

As part of our scope of works, we also removed some internal walls to allow for the installation of some minor steel works and new partition walls. Once these were in place, the walls were plastered and the flooring was fitted. Internal decorating was completed alongside the suspended ceilings.

The M&E consisted of alterations of the existing fixtures and included the installation of new fixtures ensuring that the new rooms had upgraded fixtures, internal/external fire door installations.

Whilst the works were carried out, the school remained live and therefore we needed to work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure that risks to the students/ public were mitigated. Additionally we worked with the school to segregate the school to ensure the the school could operate like normal and our works were not disruptive. All deliveries were scheduled outside of school pick up and drop offs to ensure our works did not interrupt the daily running of the To ensure works were carried out smoothly, regular proactive engagement meetings were held throughout the project, these included safety coordination, progress and design meetings.
