Queens Park Health Centre, Bedfordshire

R G Carter completed the refurbishment works to the Queen’s Park Health Centre.

Over a 14 week period and split it into 4 phases to minimise any disruption to the Health Centre, the first phase consisted of a strip out, small demolition, structural removal of walls and insertion of steel beams creating bigger openings. This created 2 new offices and waiting areas.

Two new clinical rooms and a reception area were created in the second phase following a soft strip out and minor demolition to allow us to remodel the rooms.

A further two clinical rooms were created following a soft strip out and demolition of existing to upgrade the rooms and a refurbishment of the IT room.

The final phase saw the revamping of remaining areas i.e. corridors and existing clinical rooms – redecorations, suspending ceilings as part of their environmental works took out part of the existing hot water heating systems and upgraded it to infrared heaters – decarbonising the existing facility.

Lighting was upgraded to LED throughout and new Integrated Plumbing Systems (IPS) units (clinical washing areas in the clinical rooms).
