Sir Bobby Robson Academy

R G Carter are delighted to have successfully completed this SEMH School in Ipswich on behalf of Suffolk County Council and the Unity Schools Partnership.

The Sir Bobby Robson School is a 60-place special school for boys and girls in the age range 8-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) issue’s needs. Located sensitively within a housing and live education facility, the school is run by Unity Schools Partnership and is based on a mainstream model of education with an SEMH / ASD specialism.

The overarching vision for the school is to provide individualised support for all students and prepare them to become successful independent adults that make a positive contribution to their community, hence becoming valuable members of a better society.

The project involved the demolition of an existing ground floor slab and construction of a new build standalone offsite SIP Panel timber frame SEMH school with associated external works. The project included a high quality brick finish with flat roofing elements throughout. The project also included a soakaway system allowing service water to be dispersed efficiently, whilst providing a stable water source for the external landscape.
