Stamford AFC and Borderville Sports Centre

The new Borderville Sports Centre, is a joint facility for New College Stamford and the new grounds for Stamford AFC.  Designed specifically for sports development and training, it boasts state-of-the-art facilities such as a 3G artificial grass pitch, gym, FA rated pitch, multi-purpose sports hall, bistro eatery, licensed bar, and 2 large teaching rooms which open up with bi-folding doors.

The impressive sprung floor space of approximately 735 square metres (35m x 21m) is specially designed to maximise playability and relieve the stresses placed on bones, joints and muscles of the lower body during sport whilst the ventilation system ensures atmospheric comfort and specialised lighting system completes the user experience. There is a state of the art scoreboard for use in training and competition.

There is also a state of the art third generation (3G) artificial grass pitch (AGP) with floodlighting and spectators viewing area. The specialist surface can be utilised as a full size 11v11 pitch, age related 9v9 pitch (or Adult Training Pitch) and three mini sided pitches.

This unique project was undertaken with support from multiple funders including the FA Football Foundation, Sport England, Skills Funding Agency and New College Stamford with BELL.

This is a BREEAM Excellent and EPC “A” Rated project.
