R G Carter officially opened its new engineering facility in Attleborough, bringing together ground investigation, design, piling and civil engineering teams on one site, to provide an enhanced service for current and potential clients.

Chairman Mr Robert Carter, officially opened the new facility on 1st November and said to over 100 people that attended:

“This is an exciting time for us. Bringing our engineering companies together at this purpose-built facility will enable them to work more closely together to improve our services to our clients. Our UKAS accredited laboratory is one of the best equipped facilities in East Anglia and provides a great foundation for our soils and material testing capabilities. We will provide the local community with extra jobs and engage with local schools by offering tours of the site.”

Ivan Groom, Director of R G Carter Engineering, expressed his enthusiasm for the new facility commenting, “the collective knowledge of these teams allows us to broaden and improve the service that we offer our clients. Harnessing this capability we will make us one of the foremost engineering companies in the industry”.

Alongside the new office space, the site includes a workshop for piling rig and auger maintenance, and a fully equipped soils and concrete testing laboratory.

Demonstrations took place throughout the day of the ceremony, showcasing the equipment based at the facility including 3D printing capability, ground investigation drilling, foundation pile auguring, plant maintenance, welding and a series of soil and concrete testing demonstrations.
