A hospital children’s ward has benefitted from a new revamped outdoor play area.

We have transformed an overgrown and unused outdoor area at Lincoln County Hospital for patients and their families on Rainforest Ward.

The team came up with the idea of giving back to the local community and this children’s ward whilst carrying out works throughout the hospital.

A jungle-themed hoarding was designed and printed by local company Double Red Print, before being erected in the outdoor area at the ward, making it a much friendlier and inviting space.

The team donated their time and labour revamping the outdoor area and officially handed over the space to the ward last week, Junior Sister on the children’s ward, Tracey Lingard said:

“We are really grateful to R G Carter for transforming our outdoor space. It will give so many patients and families a lovely space to play and relax in what is quite often a difficult time.”

Tim Owen, Project Manager at R G Carter, on behalf of the team said:

“We are delighted that we have been able to support the hospital and carry out this project. It’s great to see the space looking cheerful and we are pleased that children have a place they can escape to and help aid their recovery.”
