R G Carter are delighted to be able to begin construction on the new NOOK building for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospice (EACH). The building, a new children’s hospice in Norfolk, will be spread across a single floor and have more areas for clinical care, a hydrotherapy pool, state-of-the-art sensory room and better equipped bedrooms.

The vastly improved facilities will mean EACH can reach even more than the 128 children and 219 family members it currently does from Quidenham, which supports 50% more young people compared to the charity’s other two hospices in Cambridgeshire and Suffolk.

The appeal, which was launched in 2014, has now received the backing needed to get the project off the ground.

A turf cutting ceremony took place on Wednesday 15 November, with trustees from EACH and members of the local press attending.

Operations Director, Mario Rackham said:
“R G Carter is immensely proud to be delivering this much-needed project. It’s great to be able to provide local families with a new purpose-built environment, which matches the charity’s vision for the very best services and support across the region.”
