Two construction professionals wearing white hard hats and yellow high‑visibility vests stand on a construction site holding a ceremonial shovel, with red safety barriers and an NHS building visible in the background.

An official groundbreaking ceremony was held on 21st July to mark the start of construction of the new multi-storey car park at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) in King’s Lynn.

Attended by representatives from the NHS, the New QEH team, local MPs and community stakeholders, the event celebrated a key milestone in the hospital’s redevelopment programme.

Delivered by R G Carter and CDG, the six-level car park is a vital enabling project that will free up the existing surface car park site for construction of the new hospital. For the project team, the ceremony was a proud moment, marking the transition from planning to delivery and another significant step towards bringing the New QEH vision to life.
