The Maggie’s Cambridge Centre reached an exciting milestone as R G Carter joined Maggie’s, supporters and invited guests to celebrate the ceremonial groundbreaking of the new facility.
The purpose-built centre will provide expert cancer support in a welcoming, non-clinical environment. It will support people living with cancer, as well as their family and friends.
R G Carter was proud to join Maggie’s, supporters and invited guests to celebrate the ceremonial groundbreaking of the new Maggie’s Cambridge Centre. The event marked the start of construction on the purpose-built facility. The new centre will replace the interim facility, which has served the local community for the past 14 years.
Guests gathered on site for photographs and speeches. Contributions were made by Maggie’s CEO Dame Laura Lee, Centre Head Lisa Punt and centre visitors, who shared their personal experiences.

Once complete, the centre will provide a place of comfort, hope and practical support. It is expected to help thousands of people affected by cancer across the region.
In addition, the new facility has been designed to create a calm and welcoming environment away from the clinical setting of a hospital. It will provide free practical, emotional and social support for people affected by cancer across Cambridge and the surrounding area.
Furthermore, R G Carter is proud to be delivering a project that will have a lasting impact on the local community. The new centre will help ensure these vital services remain available for years to come.
