Construction of the new Queen Elizabeth Hospital car park in King’s Lynn is progressing well, with piling works nearing completion.

The five-storey, 1,335-space multi-storey car park is a key development supporting the hospital’s future redevelopment plans.

GM Piling is nearing completion of the continuous flight auger (CFA) piling works, having overcome challenging ground conditions, including hard strata encountered at depths of eight and 12 metres.

Once piling is complete, works will progress to pile cropping, the construction of ground beams and pile caps, and preparations for the installation of the steel frame.

The project represents an important step towards improving parking provision at Queen Elizabeth Hospital as plans for its future redevelopment progress.
