The Building 60 team opened their site for CIOB members on Tuesday July 24th. The event allowed the visitors to see and hear about the progress and delivery of the post tensioned concrete framed structure, which includes exposed concrete patterns, twin wall construction and double height feature columns.
Stuart Thompson, Senior Design Manager on site, led the talk where he discussed the design considerations of working with stressed steel tendons and the sensitivity of matching the concrete mix to allow the post-tensioning process to take place.
The key message delivered to our guests, was that a post tensioned frame offered great benefits to the Client, but you have to plan ahead.
