Within Chingford Mount Cemetery, we are delivering a new crematorium for the London Borough of Waltham Forest. The project will provide the Borough’s first crematorium and is being delivered as the UK’s first fully electric, council‑owned facility.
The building is arranged on a circular plan with an 80‑seat chapel, timber internal finishes and full‑height glazing to maximise natural daylight. Supporting spaces include family waiting and viewing areas, the Cremation Hall, and associated office and support accommodation. The primary structure and envelope are well advanced, with external brickwork progressing to programme. Internally, first‑fix mechanical and electrical installations are underway.
A recent milestone involved a 130‑tonne mobile crane installing specialist plant.
