Boiler Decarbonisation for University of Bedfordshire

As part of our continued partnership with the University of Bedford,
R G Carter were selected to upgrade the boiler plants at Polhill (student accommodation campus), Putteridge Bury (an event space used for a variety of events such as conferences, graduations and seminars) and it’s Park Street campus.

As part of the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme funding, air source heat pumps were installed at all sites replacing existing fossil fuel heating boilers.

At Polhill, we extended the existing district heating system from the energy centre to service the existing campus centre building. Decommission and removal of the redundant boiler system took place in addition to a temporary boiler placed to maintain hot water and heating whilst the works too place.
