The Folly

We were appointed by the Trust to replace the leaded lights in The Folly which were unfortunately damaged by vandals. The Trust (English Heritage & the National Trust Historians) asked us to provide a solution to replace the lights with something unbreakable to prevent them being broken again in the future. We proposed utilising clear plastic which had the same thickness as existing glass. To achieve this, we peeled back the lead cane forming the leaded lights, removed the broken glass, replaced all the glass to the first floor with plastic squares pre-cut and finally put back lead canes around glass and seal corners with lead adhesive to secure in place.

Upper Lake Weir

The brick sloping weir at Wimpole Hall needed cleaning and restoring from the upper lake to the lower lake. To complete this we cleaned off of all weed and vegetation build up to the slope of the weir and over spill, once cleaned we inspected the area for damage and carried out repair work in the form of new brickwork.

Walled Garden Underpinning

It was identified that the wall within the garden was collapsing. Utilising the Client’s Structural Engineer’s design, we were appointed to the underpin the walled garden abutments.
