New Classroom Block at Wallingford School

Appointed under the Crown Commercial Services Construction Framework, R G Carter were awarded the work to design and construct a new teaching block at one of Oxfordshire’s oldest school.

The Wallingford School, founded in 1659 has now a brand new, modern 2-storey teaching block on it’s grounds. The extension will provide a mix of science, IT and general teaching accommodation and associated external works. The contract also encompassed the work to convert a music room and DT room.

Built from a Steel Frame, with an SFS & Blockwork inner skin, and a Brickwork, Cladding & Curtain Walling external envelope, the building has a Flat Roof housing the PV array & a Green “wild flower” roof to the remaining.
