R G Carter is making strong progress on the new West Block at Wymondham High Academy for Norfolk County Council and Enrich Learning Trust. The project will create space for an additional 150 pupils.
Groundworks are now underway for the 26m x 79m building. The team plans to erect the steel frame in October. NPS designed the new facility, which will include a three-court sports hall, design and technology rooms, IT and graphics classrooms, a music room and staff facilities.
The project team is also delivering a new MUGA pitch and a covered walkway. The walkway will connect the existing changing rooms to the new sports hall. Work on the MUGA has already started, with excavation for the attenuation tank progressing well. The team has also begun pouring the building foundations.
