At the UEA Edith Cavell Building, adjacent to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, R G Carter has completed the extension phase of the project to enhance teaching facilities for the School of Anatomy.
The new extension provides 390 m² of learning space in open-plan anatomy teaching rooms, alongside a cloakroom, briefing areas and office space. Externally, the building’s façades use a dark black brick and aluminium shingle tiles, giving it its unique aesthetic by designers LSI Architects.
Students will begin using the new state-of-the-art anatomy facilities in the new extension from September, increasing capacity for practical teaching and supporting undergraduate, postgraduate and specialist training.
Earlier in the project, the team reconfigured and refurbished rooms in the existing building to create modern, practical teaching space for medical students, including a 4D immersive suite.
