Construction activity is now well underway at Norwich’s new Costco Wholesale Warehouse at Broadland Business Park, with earthworks and groundworks progressing across the 4.16-hectare site.

Located on Old Chapel Way, just off the A47, the 13,300 sqm development will become Costco’s first warehouse in East Anglia. The scheme will include a warehouse club, a two-level car park with more than 600 spaces and a tyre service facility.

Current works are preparing the site for foundations, with earthworks and groundworks expected to continue over the next six to seven weeks, and the erection of the steel structure scheduled to begin in September.

Alex Mackay, Director and General Manager at R G Carter, said: “We’re making strong progress on site, with preparations being made for the next stages of construction. It’s great to see the project gathering pace as work continues across the development. We’re proud to be working alongside Costco and our project partners to deliver this significant development for Norwich and the wider region.”

Paul Landen, Construction Director – Europe at Costco Wholesale UK Ltd, said: “It’s exciting to see the project move from plans to reality. Norwich is an important location for Costco, and this development will enable us to bring our offering to new and existing members across the region. We’re pleased to see work advancing on site as construction progresses.”

Work continues to progress alongside ongoing engagement with the local community.

The project marks a significant step forward in the delivery of Costco’s first warehouse in  East Anglia, with the first visible elements of the building set to emerge above ground in the coming months.
