The works involved building three extensions simultaneously at Little Waltham surgery.
- The three extensions were constructed to provide new consulting rooms, an entrance lobby, pharmacy and dispensary, reception and staff room.
- The existing building had to be vacated entirely in order to ensure the safety of patients and doctors The practice was moved into the nearby surgery at Great Notley.
- Two site cabins were fully fitted out on the development to ensure a presence remained on site at all times. Each cabin required appropriate equipment, disability access and facilities. One was used as a consulting room and the other as a pharmacy.
- R G Carter’s IT department also ensured the there was an operational IT system which was linked into the NHS, in both the temporary cabins and at the off-site location.
